Sergio Henrique Ferreira

Doctor in medicine by the University of Sao Paulo, is an outstanding researcher in the area of pharmacology, and has discovered that the poison of a Brazilian snake, Bothrops jararaca, multiplies the effects of bradicinine, live and in vitro. Those studies were the stepping stone for the development of a series of hypotensive substances much used today in medical practice. Is also known internationally for his contribution in the area of anti inflammatory painkillers.

Is one of the world’s most important experts in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. She has pioneered in the field of enzymology and in the knowledge of the mechanisms of genetic information transmission, particularly the replication of DNA and has had a decisive influence on the birth and development of molecular biology in Spain.

José Luis Massera

He was an engineer and mathematician, famous for the theorem that carries his name, and solves the problem of the stability of the equilibrium in non lineal differential functions, in terms of the Lyapunov function. His findings, published in 1949 in the famous Annals of Mathematics, have been and are today of frequent use by mathematicians, physicists, chemists, economists, electro-technical engineers and industrial chemists.
