Silvia Torres Castilleja

She is considered to be one of the Mexican scientists with greater international recognition in particular for her contributions involving theoretical and observational studies of interstellar matter. She studied physics in the School of Science of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and obtained her doctoral degree in astronomy from the University of California at Berkeley. She is an Emeritus Professor of the Institute of Astronomy and an Emeritus Researcher of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores.

Gabriel Torres Villaseñor

He was born in Mexico City in 1944. General Coordinator

He studied physics and earned a doctorate at the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He engaged in postdoctoral work for two years at Princeton University. At the beginning of his career, Dr. Flores Valdés devoted himself to work on theoretical nuclear physics, during the 1970’s he delved into issues related with statistical theory of nuclear reactions and the theory of random matrices. He is also recognized for his colossal efforts to disseminate science.

Jaime G. de la Garza Salazar

Jaime G. de la Garza Salazar was born in the City of Monterrey on December 12th, 1934. He received a Medical Degree from the Universidad Autónoma of Nuevo León. Did work in internal medicine and medical oncology at the South Texas Medical School of San Antonio, Texas and the Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minnesota. Currently, he is a clinical researcher of the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología of the Ministry of Health, and permanent “F” researcher of the Researchers Evaluating Committee of the Institutes Coordination Office of the Ministry of Health, and National Researcher, Level II, of the National System of Researchers.
